NBA edits the highlights, which are then catalogued and priced by Dapper Labs. Each highlight is then added to digital packs that resemble traditional trading cards and sold on the NBA Top Shot online platform. The cost can vary from $9 to $230 and is determined on the star power, highlight quality, and exclusivity of the card. After buying a pack, the highlights are placed in an encrypted highlight wallet that is safe and secure so they can be shown or sold again on NBA Top Shot's online market.

There are three levels of moments that everyone can invest in:

Common, Rare, and Legendary
